I have learned so much this semester in Online Publishing 1 with Brent Passmore. We have talked about the numerous ways one can post news media content online.
There are many outlets available for online journalism, such as:
- Tumblr
- WordPress
- CNNiReport
- BlogSpot
- Associated Content.com
I have learned how to post interesting stories on WordPress and Tumblr, as well as how to convert a boring webpage into something more interesting for Internet users.
We have also discussed other forms of journalism, such as broadcast. We have received tips on how to conduct a perfect on-camera interview, how to create a diverse and interesting news package, and how to play with lighting and focus. We have briefly discussed Final Cut Pro, the Apple editing program used for creating a news package.
This class has been fun and interesting. It makes me happy to be an Online Journalism major!
